One of the most common questions I've gotten is How do I explain what improvement science is to my cluster? As you've all heard me say, improvement science is a way of thinking and problem solving that is rooted in disciplined inquiry; not a process with a sequence of steps that must be strictly implemented.
I know, it's not a satisfying answer but I think part of learning how to improve involves letting go of the idea of implementing and re-centering on learning. That has been my experience.
All that being said, if need some help finding a way to introduce improvement to your clusters, keep an eye on this space as I'll be adding resources that your colleagues have used and tested. To get you started, you can use this slide deck as a way to answer the question, what is improvement at its most basic? In the notes section under each slide, I've added in some talking points that I've found useful when talking about improvement science.
