Welcome to the Powered by Publics Learning Exchange!

The Learning Exchange is for participants in APLU’s Powered by Publics student success initiative. It’s an online community where student success professionals can share ideas, resources, and strategies to help achieve their student success goals.

NOTE: In order for your registration to be approved, you must have an email address at a university participating in APLU’s Powered by Publics initiative, and you must use that email address for your Learning Exchange registration. If you’re not sure whether your institution is participating, please refer to this list on the APLU website.

If you follow the instructions below, your membership will immediately be activated, but will also go into a moderation queue. If the email address you used is not a participating institution address, your registration will be denied.

To sign up:

  1. Go to http://pxp.crowdstack.io

  2. Click on "JOIN" (on the blue navigation bar, to the left of "SIGN IN").

  3. Enter your email address, a password, and your name as you would like it to be displayed in the online community.

  4. Click on the Register Now button.

  5. Check your email for a message with the subject “Welcome to Powered by Publics Learning Exchange” from alerts@crowdstack.com (you may need to search for the email if it gets filtered out of your inbox).

  6. Click on VERIFY EMAIL ADDRESS in the email message.  When you click on the link, you will be automatically logged in to the Learning Exchange, and you will remain logged in until you select SIGN OUT from the menu.  For easiest access to the Exchange, remain logged in.

You should be able to access the Exchange right away. You will be able to read items on the Exchange, but you will not be able to comment or post until your registration has been approved. Note that if you are not using an email address from an institution participating in the Powered by Publics initiative, your registration will be denied and you will no longer have access to the site.

Public university leaders have spent years creating and testing solutions to help students succeed in college, complete their degrees, and be well-prepared for the workforce. These efforts have achieved significant success at individual institutions, but have not been fully brought to scale across the public higher education sector.

That’s why nearly 125 institutions have joined together to increase college access, student, and postsecondary attainment. The initiative, called Powered by Publics: Scaling Student Success, represents the largest-ever collaborative effort to improve college access, advance equity, and increase college degrees awarded.

To achieve this vision, APLU's Powered by Publics initiative has convened nearly 125 change-ready institutions within 16 “transformation clusters” – reaching 3 million undergraduate students, including 1 million Pell Grant recipients. Each cluster is focused on solving different pieces of the student success puzzle as public universities work together to tear down long-standing barriers, eliminate the achievement gap, prepare students to thrive in the 21st century workforce, and collectively increase the number of degrees they award. The clusters are advancing collaborative work in thematic areas of affordability, holistic student supports, and teaching and learning.

Public research universities share a commitment to providing students from all backgrounds an affordable, high-quality education that aligns with workforce needs. APLU will work with the institutions in the transformation clusters to facilitate a collaborative community of learning so the entire public higher education community can identify and adopt evidence-based practices that drive progress toward equity and college completion.
