Event Description: In August 2022, the U.S. Department of Education announced the creation of the Postsecondary Student Success grant program to help institutions of higher education address college completion challenges. The Department’s first awards under this program provide nearly $5 million in support to HBCUs, MSIs, and community colleges that are investing in evidence-based reforms that increase postsecondary retention, transfer, and completion. The Department received an additional $45 million in funding in the FY23 budget to expand the program to serve more students.

This webinar will feature a panel of leaders from several funded institutions. Leaders will share how they developed their interventions, their plans for implementation, and lessons learned thus far. Webinar participants will also learn about how the field is defining ‘evidence-based’ and how to generate different types of evidence that meet rigorous standards. Finally, participants will learn about future opportunities for collaboration, insights into the next round of funding, and technical assistance in advance of the next funding announcement.

This webinar is hosted by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities (USU), with support from Arnold Ventures.
